My little rant on self-storage

You may not even need to be there when the company brings and removes the pods. Are there any special considerations I should know about? Packing moving pods is not quite like packing a moving van. Rather than piling the heaviest objects at the front of the pod, you should layer the heaviest items on the bottom and the lightest on top, with the total weight distributed evenly across the floor. You should also take extra care to pad your belongings, since the container might tip and rock slightly when it is loaded and unloaded. Also, if the pod company does not provide a padlock, you will need to buy one yourself.
